Children
At Winter Gardens Academy we offer the children opportunities to lead areas take responsibility for being an active member of the school community. We have ambassadors for the following areas:
School Council
A school councillor is someone who is passionate about making a change. They are confident to express their views and represent their class. Overall, they want to make the school a better place to be for everyone.
Eco Warriors
Meet our Eco Warriors who are committed to having a positive impact upon the environment and finding ways of improving Winter Gardens to make it more eco-friendly. The children take their role very seriously and are excited to explore the ways in which we can become more sustainable within our school and wider community. The Eco-Warriors are formed of 2 representatives from each class, who will feedback suggestions made by their peers as to what we can do to take care of our planet. We cannot wait to begin our first mission!
Wellbeing Champions
The role of a Wellbeing Champion is to be kind, caring and helpful, to notice when someone is feeling upset or worried and to try to help them through their difficult time. They will be a trusted and nurturing member of their class and someone that can be relied upon to help others when needed.
Sports Crew
Meet our new sports leaders from Nursery to year 6. Each class have voted for children they think will be super sports leaders!
Our sports leaders believe they can promote the 7 Olympic and Paralympic values which are: respect, excellence, friendship, determination, inspiration, courage and equality. They feel passionate about encouraging their peers to make healthy choices and stay active.
At Winter Gardens Academy our sports leaders will be: Encouraging others to be active at playtimes, lessons and at home, promoting their class to complete the daily mile, demonstrating teamwork and fair-play, supporting their class in PE lessons, encouraging positive and competitive attitudes and will always be coming up with new ideas on how to stay active and make healthy choices.
Reading Ambassadors
Our reading ambassadors have been elected by their classmates because of the love and passion they have for reading. They are tasked with helping the children of winter gardens discover their own love of reading, encouraging others to branch out and try new ways of reading and explore a range of genres. Our reading ambassadors know the positive impact reading can have on our lives and will encourage all to pick up a book.
Computing Champions
Our computer champions are children within each class who take care of their year groups chrome books, always ensuring they are charged and ready to go. Computer champions are respectful of technology and able to assist other children within their learning of the computing curriculum.
